non/fiction for children
Children's program non/fiction has a serious name: «In Search of Values. What is important to you?», but in fact it is not that serious. The program, for example, includes master classes on comics and engraving, studying the watercolor-spots, playing time machine and words games, «presidential elections» with attempts to «be in the shoes» of the President or Prime-Minister, «workshop of fairy tales», «dream school» and «Pocket Scientist show». New books for children are in a special section of the fair “Territory of knowledge”

Children’s program takes not the last place at the fair, trying to regain the interest in reading of modern children. The main activity here is a seminar on philosophy for children “The values and attitudes”. In the program “10 minutes on the values” the famous writers express their views on this subject. Of special attention is the exhibition “SAMOZVERI” based on the eponymous book with illustrations by Alexander Rodchenko and Tomi Ungerer. This book was never published, and visitors will have a unique opportunity to become acquainted with her; Parisian publishing house Les trois ourses presents it at the fair. Non/fiction is almost one of the most interesting cultural events of the year.

Wonderful reading. Children’s program is unusually rich this year. This year comes famous Swede Ulf Stark. Author of “Do you know how to whistle, Johanna?”, “My little sister – Angel”, “Let the polar bears dance” and “A Star Called Ajax” will present his new book about the kind demon Asmodeus, whose father, Lord of the Sighs, sends him to earth to get a human soul. Norwegian Maria Parr has long been known as the author of one book, “Waffle Heart”, about the adventures of a boy Trille and a girl Lena, living in the village Slivers-Matilda, but at the fair she presents her new novel, “Tonya Glimmerdal”. Also come Finns Aino Havukaynen and Sami Toivonen, who write and paint a hilarious funny children’s books about boys Tatu and Patu. If , by any chance, you have no idea what “all-bad-things-definer” is, then perhaps it makes sense to meet with authors and to fill the gap.

Traditionally, children’s program was intense: the playground with the children drawing, making applications and, of course, reading books. From time to time the children were visited by writers - participants of the “10 minutes about values”. Their views on the universe shared Ulf Stark (Sweden), Maria Parr (Norway), Aino Havukaynen, Sami Toivonen (Finland), Morten Sanden (Sweden), Marietta Chudakova (Russia).
